Retail business going into former Circuit City, church property

The former home of electronics retailer Circuit City, which later was converted to Kingdom Metropolitan Worship Centre, is now returning to retail use at 3001 Airport Thruway in Columbus.

It was the home of electronics retailer Circuit City for a decade, then sat empty for several years before becoming a palm tree-laced oasis of worship until an unfortunate foreclosure last year.

Now the 21,212-square-foot building at 3001 Airport Thruway, at the intersection of West Britt David Road, will be returning to the city’s tax rolls with a retailer planning to open at the location.

‘For the People’ law firm to have name on new downtown office building

A downtown Columbus loft office building moving toward its $3.1 million completion will feature the name of a prominent personal injury law firm that uses the slogan, “For the People,” when it opens by the end of June.

Just as it is preparing to open its freshly constructed, state-of-the-art corporate office in north Columbus in less than two months, Waddell Realty soon will have a new name to go with it — Bickerstaff Parham Real Estate.

Partners Reynolds Bickerstaff and Allen Parham made the announcement to employees Wednesday, with the company legally taking its new moniker on Nov. 1. The company, founded by Columbus businessman Richard Waddell, has been around more than 30 years.
